Modric fee 'Too low' says agent
Bleeding hell, we've told Chelsea that already! Luka Modric's agent has told Chelsea - up your offer or you will lose out. Chelsea has made a £22m offer for Modric, 25. But the Croatian's agent Nikky Vukan has said: "Luka is happy at Spurs but if an offer came in that was acceptable to the club and player, we would be willing to discuss it." That's the clearest indication yet, that if Chelsea want Modric, then the Blues need to get their fingers out of their pockets and start taking the deal seriously. Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay is in the Far East looking at pre-season venues and pressing the flesh of sponsors. Knowing Chelsea still use a fax system at SW6 to conduct deal and offers, I hope someone has put new paper in the machine and pressed the 'on' button as it's going to be needed.
