AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani will not attempt to re-sign Andriy Shevchenko this summer because he's been told Chelsea don't want to sell the striker.
The Ukraine international has been linked with a return to the Rossoneri after struggling to adapt to the Premier League following his £30million move from Milan last summer.
Shevchenko netted just 14 goals in 51 appearances for the Blues in his debut season in England, but Galliani claims his Chelsea counterpart Peter Kenyon is adamant the former European footballer of the year is not for sale.
"Sheva was transferred a year ago for an important amount of money and I don't think Chelsea will be willing to sell him 12 months later," revealed Galliani.
"In fact, 15 days ago, Peter Kenyon came to Milan's headquarters and told me that Shevchenko is not for sale. He also will not arrive on loan.
"Sheva is part of the history of Milan and he is saddened to have left.
"Has he told me that he regrets it? I will not answer that."
Shevchenko is second in Milan's all-time leading goalscoring charts having netted 127 times in seven years at the San Siro.
