Milan maintain Pirlo stance

AC Milan executive president Adriano Galliani has reiterated the club's intention to keep Andrea Pirlo. The Italy international has been the subject of much speculation this summer, with his future at Giuseppe Meazza regularly called into question. Premier League outfit Chelsea have been strongly linked with an approach, with former Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti now in charge at Stamford Bridge. Pirlo, though, insists he is happy to remain with the Rossoneri and has no desire to secure a switch to England, while Galliani maintains the club have no interest in discussing a sale. "Pirlo is destined to remain here," said Galliani. "We never entered into negotiations with Chelsea for Pirlo, there has never been an offer on the table and there are no problems. "Will he remain at Milan? I really believe so." Pirlo, who has spent the last eight years with Milan, is under contract with the Serie A giants until the summer of 2012.
