Milan end interest in Fabiano

AC Milan have confirmed that their pursuit of Seville striker Luis Fabiano has 'failed'. The Serie A giants had been chasing the Brazil international for some time, but were unable to reach an agreement with his current employers. With the Rossoneri unwilling to match Fabiano's buy-out clause, Sevilla made it clear that they were not prepared to do business. Milan have been looking to add extra firepower to their squad this summer following the sale of Brazilian superstar Kaka to Real Madrid. They came up short in their efforts to lure Edin Dzeko away from Wolfsburg and have now been forced to accept defeat in their pursuit of Fabiano. "Luis Fabiano won't arrive in Milan. The negotiations have failed," said club lawyer Leandro Cantamessa. Milan have also moved to distance themselves from ongoing rumours surrounding the future of Andrea Pirlo. No offers The talented playmaker has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea, with speculation resurfacing on Wednesday. Reports suggest the Blues have made an offer to Milan for the Italy international, but Cantamessa insists he knows of no such approach. "At the moment I am not aware of Chelsea making an offer for Pirlo," he added. Cantamessa also insists that Milan have yet to make a move for Real Madrid forward Klaas Jan Huntelaar. "On Huntelaar there is no news," he said. "But I must admit that I know nothing about Milan's budget for the transfer market."
