Mikel eager for Cup tonic

Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel believes FA Cup glory would help 'wash away the pain' of their UEFA Champions League disappointment. The Blues were denied a spot in this season's Champions League final after an injury-time goal handed Barcelona a dramatic success. Guus Hiddink's side felt aggrieved at the loss, citing poor refereeing in the second leg at Stamford Bridge. But Chelsea have a chance to finish their season on a high when they meet Everton in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday. "It will wash away the pain which we felt in the Champions League, so we have to make sure we win this one," said Mikel. "A trophy is a trophy. We always want to make sure we win everything - it doesn't matter what competition we're playing in. "We just love winning trophies. If the FA Cup is the one we're going to get this season, it's fine." Mikel is also keen to land the trophy in order to hand manager Hiddink a fitting send-off before he resumes sole charge of Russia. The Nigerian midfielder added: "It's very important for the players and everyone. We have to win the Cup for the manager. "We haven't won anything since we won the FA Cup in 2007, so we have to make sure we win this one. "If we win, it will bring a little bit of hope back to the club and back into the players."
