Michael Ballack set for talks over new Chelsea deal this week

Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack is set to open negotiations over a new contract this week. [LNB]Ballack's current deal expires this summer and Bundesliga side Schalke are keen to land the 33-year-old on a free transfer. [LNB]But Ballack wants to stay at Stamford Bridge and Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti would like to keep hold of a player who arrived in 2006 and had a huge hand in the club's first Double earlier this month.
