Bright future: Chelsea forward Gael Kakuta
Chelsea starlet Gael Kakuta is wanted on loan at Marseille, the French club's president has confirmed.
Kakuta, 19, penned a new deal earlier this month tying him to Stamford Bridge until 2015 but has made only four league appearances for the Blues this season.
And Marseille chief Jean-Claude Dassier revealed his club wanted talks over a temporary switch for the France Under 21 forward.
He said: 'Kakuta? Here at Marseille? Why not? He would be a good addition. But it will only be for the option of a straight loan - not to buy.'
Kakuta's arrival at Chelsea was contested by Lens in 2007. The 'tapping up' dispute led to Chelsea being banned from signing any new players until January 2011 when FIFA handed down their judgement in September 2009.
However, the Court of Arbitation for Sport overturned the decision in February and cleared Chelsea of wrongdoing.
