Mario Melchiot quits Wigan and signs for Qatar club Umm Salal

Taking up Gulf: Mario Melchiot is leaving Wigan for Qatar[LNB]Mario Melchiot has rejected a pay cut at Wigan and opted to join Qatar club Umm Salal instead.[LNB]Melchiot, who also played for Chelsea, Birmingham and Ajax, signed a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
