Malouda sets the record straight
05 Jan 2010 - 09:04:19
Midfielder Florent Malouda has denied making critical comments about Chelsea coach Carlo Ancelotti and team-mate Frank Lampard.
French daily L'Equipe carried a story last week in which an unhappy Malouda claimed he was disillusioned with a lack of first-team opportunities this term under Ancelotti and was willing to move elsewhere in order to further his career.
The France international also criticised the Italian coach's automatic selection of team-mate Lampard on his preferred left side of midfield role.
However, Malouda has denied making the "disgusting" comments and claims he is completely happy at Stamford Bridge.
"Nothing that you could read came out of my mouth," he told Chelsea TV. "I was really shocked and surprised when I came and we had a meeting when I discovered my words.
"My reaction was to go and talk with the manager and talk with Lamps and the meeting was clear. The rest I don't want to talk about that because they did it on purpose and tried to put trouble in our team.
"We have to look forward and I don't care what is written because I know it is not coming from my mouth.
"I hope the fans give support to the team because when people write things like this they are trying to put trouble into the team and we are so good and we can not afford this."
