Paolo Maldini has revealed that all the AC Milan players want manager Carlo Ancelotti to stay at the club. The Italian boss has been persistently linked with the Chelsea post with interim manager Guus Hiddink set to depart after the FA Cup final on 30th May. Ancelotti has consistently said he wants to stay with the Rossoneri but matters may be taken out of his hands with president Silvio Berlusconi unhappy with the team's performances this season. After failing to qualify for the UEFA Champions League last term Milan were embarrassingly knocked out of the Uefa Cup at the last 32 stage, while the club currently trail city rivals and newly-crowned champions Inter by 10 points in Serie A. Despite their last title success coming five seasons ago, their legendary skipper insists that the squad still have faith in their boss. "We are hoping Ancelotti will stay," Maldini said. "With him in charge the group has been really good. "We have won so many titles and our quality of life with him has been great. "But in order to go forward there needs to be three parties that want it: the players, the coach and the club." Ancelotti is currently the longest-serving manager in Serie A having taken over in 2001.
