Luiz shines, Oscar tired but Brazil march on

Plus, it's Hull in season's opener

David Luiz put in an imperious performance for his country this evening as Brazil disposed of Mexico in the Confederations Cup 2-0.

Chelsea's other participant in the Group A Oscar had a poor match and looked tired - which after 65 games for the Blues in his debut season, understandable. The midfielder was substituted in the second half.Although the hosts top their group, they still look the second-best side in the tournament so far, with Spain outstanding.Tomorrow the World and European Champions take on whipping boys Tahiti.Hopefully Fernando Torres, Juan Mata and Cesar Azpilicueta will get a run out.Speaking of Mata, I was a tad amused that certain national newspapers, desperate to get their Chelsea fix are upping the ante in which Blues players will be exiting SW6.The latest, following Mikel, Torres, Luiz is the aforementioned Mata.Apparently Jose Mourinho doesn't quite fancy Mata and Barcelona are in the running to land the mercurial midfielder.Utter nonsense of course.Mourinho can now plan his season and will be working out, by studying the new season fixture list, on which date they will win the Premier League title. The opening matches will be well documented by now and an opener against Hull City most welcome. But last season started well for Roberto Di Matteo and look what happened to him.The visit to Old Trafford for the second match, probably changed from the Saturday to Sunday for TV will swiftly be followed by a trip to Prague to face Bayern Munich in the Super Cup which means the scheduled home match against Aston Villa soon after will have to be re-arranged.
