Liverpool are braced for more woe as the cities in the race for England's bid to host the 2018 World Cup are set to be unveiled. [LNB]The cities will be announced on Wednesday as the bid team step up their attempts to bring sport's biggest event to these shores for the first time since 1966.[LNB]Click here for Sportsmail's lowdown on which stars have been touting each city Bid team: England boss Fabio Capello, FA Chairman Lord Triesman and former captain David Beckham have led the charge to host the 2018 World Cup finals[LNB]Lord Mawhinney, chairman of the Football League and the selection panel, will reveal who has been successful - and who will face the agony of missing out. [LNB]Liverpool would be the biggest victim of the 15 candidates if they have failed to convince the organisers of their suitability in hosting matches. [LNB]Despite the city's strong links to the game - with Liverpool and Everton amassing huge amounts of silverware down the years - they may be punished for their infrastructure.[LNB] Both Anfield and Goodison Park are ageing stadiums, while both clubs are involved in long-running battles to build new grounds. The delays in that process may well count against them.[LNB] Anxious wait: Anfield may not be included in the cities list[LNB] The surprise inclusion could be Milton Keynes, with 2018 bid chief executive Andy Anson reported to be 'very impressed' by their presentation at Wembley last month.[LNB]The full list is Birmingham, Bristol, Derby, Hull, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Newcastle/Gateshead, Nottingham, Plymouth, Sheffield and Sunderland.[LNB]Each city has had to fulfil approximately 150 details - from the capacity of their stadiums to the number of hotel beds. [LNB]They have all had to hand over £250,000 for the campaign pot to aid the overall bid. The winning country is announced by FIFA next December.[LNB] 2018 World Cup: England's cities do battle for the right to stage matchesAmanda Holden backs London, Wallace and Gromit support Bristol and Lennox Lewis loves Leeds...
