Lampard sets goal target

Frank Lampard is eyeing up another 20-goal haul from midfield this season as Chelsea seek their third Premier League title. The Blues midfielder has crossed the coveted 20-goal barrier in each of the past four seasons to set the standard for top Premier League midfielders. Chelsea cruised to a midweek win over Sunderland in which Lampard, Michael Ballack and Deco each found the net and now the England international insists having a free-scoring midfield is essential to winning the title. "When you look around at the top teams they have one player who can score goals from midfield," Lampard told The Sun. "Steven Gerrard is the obvious one. Paul Scholes did in his earlier years at United. "Cristiano Ronaldo was not an out-and-out striker but did that with goals and assists. It is very important we do that - and the other night midfielders scored our three goals so that's a great sign. "I think I'll get more licence wherever I play in the diamond, left or right or the tip and I will get chances to get into the box and get goals. "More and more midfielders do that now. It used to be that players would score five or 10 goals - and now the bar is 20." Ballack Meanwhile, Ballack insists the Blues have what it takes to win any of the major trophies, but has his eyes on that elusive UEFA Champions League. The German has lost in two Champions League finals previously with Bayer Leverkusen in 2002 and again with Chelsea against Manchester United in 2008. "We seek to win the four possible titles. The team has the class on the pitch as well as the experience to win titles nationally and internationally. "After missing out in the Champions League final to United in 2008, we have what it takes to win it this time. "To win a title you need luck, which we lacked in 2008 and in the semi against Barcelona this year. But we have the potential. That is why we will win such a title."
