Lampard pleased by start

Frank Lampard is pleased Chelsea have hit the ground running this season after claiming back-to-back Premier League wins. The Blues fell behind in both their games against Hull City on the opening weekend of the season and Sunderland in midweek before running out deserved winners. Chelsea made a positive start last term, but their mid-season slump saw Luiz Felipe Scolari lose his job along with their title hopes. Lampard knows there is a long way to go, however, he believes they will be in with a shout come next May if they can maintain their form and avoid another disaster midway through the campaign. "Hull was a very difficult game and Sunderland was potentially very difficult too. Steve Bruce was always going to have them flying," he told the club's official website. "It's a long way to go [in the League] and it's just a good start. Of course you want to get your noses in front early on and if we can get a good start and not have the mid-season we had last year then we'll have a great chance." Lampard fired Chelsea ahead from the penalty spot at Sunderland, moving him level with Jimmy Greaves in the club's scoring charts. Although the England international is now the joint-fifth highest scorer in Chelsea's history, he insists club honours are more important then individual accolades. "I'm delighted with that," he continued. "Jimmy is a goalscoring legend and I'm sure he did it in a lot less games than I did. "I'm very pleased to be up there with him and just want to keep on scoring goals for Chelsea, especially important ones that help us win games. "Personal ones [achievements] are nice, but not as important as silverware. I'm much more proud of winning Premier Leagues and FA Cups with Chelsea."
