Lampard adapting to England role

Frank Lampard has revealed he is willing to sacrifice his natural attacking tendencies to suit his role alongside Steven Gerrard in England's midfield.[LNB] The Chelsea star is playing a holding position under Fabio Capello, allowing Steven Gerrard to play a more attacking role.[LNB]Capello's predecessors, Sven-Goran Eriksson and Steve McClaren, failed to utilise the pair during their reign as England manager.[LNB]The Italian, though appears to have found the balance which will finally allow the two to play together.[LNB]Authoritative"The way Capello works is very authoritative," said Lampard. "Other managers will sit you down and ask how this or that is going, whereas he will just tell us how we're going to do it.[LNB]"I am playing a different role. It is much more of a holding position, while Steven has been asked to play more on the left, but to be fair it's worked.[LNB]"There had to be a re-jigging of the midfield because it wasn't working. I do want to get forward because that is my natural game but I will try to adapt."[LNB]
