Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has poured scorn on the suggestion that Jose Mourinho will be leaving Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
Weekend reports stated that Mourinho had fallen out with Kenyon and Blues owner AS Roman Abramovich, and was considering his position at the club.
It was also claimed that Chelsea wanted current Russia coach Guus Hiddink to replace Mourinho, but Kenyon has dismissed the rumours.
"That's an old story that's being rerun at the moment," he said.
"I think that's probably because we're six points behind Manchester United.
"Such is the intensity in England for news. But there's absolutely no truth in it."
Mourinho, who has guided Chelsea to two successive Premiership titles since joining the club in the summer of 2004, is being linked with Internazionale, who currently top Serie A, and Real Madrid.
