Kenyon cool on contracts

Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has dismissed talk of possible summer exits from Stamford Bridge by Frank Lampard and Arjen Robben.
The rumour mill had suggested that midfielder Lampard could head to Barcelona, while Dutch winger Robben has been linked with Real Madrid, but Kenyon has slammed those reports.
He told Sky Sports News: "These players have still got two years to go on their contracts, which is important.
"That's why we and them and their advisors, take this opportunity to sit down at this moment in time.
"There is no crisis about it, it is a process in place and there has been a well-earned break.
"I will confirm we've had no offers and if we had offers we wouldn't accept them because they are a core part of our team."
Meanwhile, Kenyon has dismissed the suggestion that the Blues have had to tighten their purse strings, despite their three summer signings - Tal Ben Haim, Steve Sidwell and Claudio Pizarro - all being free transfer arrivals.
"It's not because there's no money, it's not because we chose to put a freeze on transfer money," Kenyon added.
"It's about saying what have we got, what do we need and I think we've got three absolutely top-quality players, who are going to be joining us.
"They will certainly make us stronger for next season."
