Kenyon Calls For Continuity

Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has warned that the club cannot continue to chop and change their manager. Since Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich took over as owner at Stamford Bridge in 2003, the Blues have had five different head coaches in charge. Interim manager Guus Hiddink is the current boss, although he looks set to leave the role and resume sole control of Russia at the end of the season. Luiz Felipe Scolari's departure in February was criticised after it was claimed the Brazilian was not afforded enough time to make an impact. And Kenyon concedes it is vital that Chelsea identify a long-term boss, or risk paying the price for irregularity at the helm. "You look at (Manchester United boss Sir Alex) Ferguson, he does it the way everybody would like to do it. Continuity is a big issue in football," Kenyon told Esquire magazine. "To achieve what we want to achieve, we can't just keep changing managers every year. That does not work."
