The episode could affect the 24-year-old's involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola in Janaury, which could be a relief to Chelsea.
But Ivorian football federation president Jacques Anouma has coaxed Kalou and Meite into a reconciliation.
Kalou said: 'We have been punished and I take responsibility for what happened. This is how you make progress: admit to your mistakes and move on.'
Ivory Coast had already qualified for the World Cup but defeated Guinea 3-0 on Saturday to ensure an unbeaten run in their 2010 campaign.
