Kalou cool despite horror miss

Salomon Kalou shrugged off one of the biggest blunders in FA Cup final history after Chelsea clinched the League and FA Cup double.[LNB] Not since Brighton's Gordon Smith failed to score from six yards in the 1983 final against Manchester United had Wembley witnessed such a calamitous miss.[LNB]Kalou was only six yards out with the goal at his mercy when he somehow conspired to smash Ashley Cole's cross against the crossbar in Saturday's 1-0 win over Portsmouth.[LNB]Thankfully for Kalou, his Ivory Coast team-mate Didier Drogba hit the winner with a free-kick from 25 yards in the 58th minute.[LNB]"I was not worried at all when I hit the crossbar," Kalou said. "It was a cup final and in the final you can never predict the score.[LNB]"It was not like against Wigan where we scored eight goals, it was a different game with different tactics.[LNB]"As a team, we worked hard and Didier Drogba did it at the end for us with a master free-kick, like he always does.[LNB]"It is a great moment for the football club and everyone at the club deserves to have the double.[LNB]"It was crazy in the dressing room, everyone was singing and dancing and it is good to make history for the club.[LNB]"It is something that we will keep forever in our minds and hopefully there is more to come."
