Juve dismiss Lampard talk
20 Mar 2007 - 15:24:10
Juventus' sporting director Alessio Secco has dismissed rumours linking the Serie B leaders with a summer move for Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard.
Stories about a possible switch for the 28-year-old England international intensified when his agent Steve Kutner was pictured talking to executives from the Turin-based side.
However, Secco said: "We didn't go to London for Lampard and there is no negotiation whatsoever to sign him.
"In the light of the comments made by the player, it is clear that his future is in England.
"Juventus were in England to strengthen our relationship with certain English clubs and Lampard's agent helped us to do so."
Lampard recently reiterated his desire to stay at Stamford Bridge, telling The Sun: "I want to stay at Chelsea. I've never wanted to leave the club and I don't intend to. I have everything I want in life where I am right now.
"For the past six years my life has been my family and Chelsea football club. Some players can say that and it sounds cliched or fake.
"I can say it because it is absolutely true. I'm very proud I play for Chelsea and of what I have achieved as part of the team."
