JT 'flattered' by City interest

Chelsea captain John Terry has admitted he was 'flattered' to be targeted by Premier League rivals Manchester City. City boss Mark Hughes made no secret of his interest in the England centre-back and saw two summer bids turned down by the Blues. Uncertainty remained over Terry's future until he released a statement at the end of July regarding his intention to stay at Stamford Bridge. The defender has stressed he was never tempted to sign at the City of Manchester Stadium and is now focused on the new season. "If I'd been tempted I'd have gone," he said in The Sun. "I was flattered but that was it. The bid was £28million but I don't know what kind of figures would have been thrown at me. "I got a call from (chief executive) Peter Kenyon and told him I was flattered but I didn't want to leave."
