Jovetic offered new deal as Liverpool tormentor attracts Man United interest
Fiorentina have offered Champions League hero Stevan Jovetic a new contract in a bid to see off interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.
The 19-year-old striker hit the headlines with a well-taken double, which saw his Serie A club inflict a 2-0 defeat on Liverpool in their Group E clash.
But Jovetic is already well known to Europe's best clubs, with recent reports suggesting Chelsea enquired about a £15million move during the summer, while United are said to have sent a scout to watch him play against Roma.
United and Real Madrid were among the teams linked to Jovetic when Fiorentina signed him for £7.2m from Partizan Belgrade 16 months ago.
Despite being just over a year into a five-year deal, Fiorentina want to renegotiate the terms and insert a £23m buy-out clause and extend the length of his stay to 2014.
Juventus, Lyon and Bayern Munich are also reportedly keen on the Montenegro international, who is nicknamed Jo-Jo.
Fiorentina manager Cesare Prandelli is delighted by his starlet's progress and, after the victory over Liverpool, said: 'Jovetic has done more than make a leap forward. Last year his qualities were there for all to see, but it was at the service of his own movements. Now it's for the team.'
