Jose Mourinho believes Chelsea's big-spending Premier League rivals have increased the pressure on themselves to deliver success.
The Chelsea boss has brought only one player to the club for a transfer fee - Florent Malouda from Lyon for £13.5million - while title rivals Manchester United and Liverpool have been busy splashing the cash this summer.
United have invested an estimated £50million in three new signings, while Liverpool broke their transfer record to land £20million striker Fernando Torres.
However, Mourinho claims he is unconcerned by the amounts of money being spent and believes it could indirectly increase the pressure on the Blues' rivals to win silverware this season.
"Every club does its own analysis of the market and their needs," said the Portuguese coach.
"Manchester United's spending is something that we don't control, we don't want to control. We don't comment and we don't want to comment.
"But we know that in the previous three seasons when we spent some millions, everybody pointed at us as the team with more responsibility to win because we were the spenders in the market.
"That's not the case this season. The only player we've bought was Malouda. We are very happy with that."
