According to the Express, the Portugal international has been told by a specialist that surgery is the best solution to a problem that has been affecting the defender for almost a month. Bosingwa has been ruled out of action ever since Chelsea's 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa. Should Bosingwa have the surgery, he will miss crucial Premier League games against Manchester United on Nov 8, Arsenal on Nov 29 and Manchester City on Dec 5, as well as Portugal's two-leg, World Cup play-off against Bosnia on Nov 14 and 18. Chelsea take on United this Sunday boasting a two-point lead at the top of the Premier League summit, having won nine of their opening 11 games and losing just twice. Carlo Ancelotti's side have also been virtually impregnable at Stamford Bridge as well, winning all nine of their domestic and European fixtures at home, while scoring 25 goals - of which 13 have come in the last three games - and conceding only one in the process. With home advantage this weekend, Didier Drogba insists the aim for his side must be to go for the victory. He said: "If we win it's going to be nice. We are top of the league and the objective when you are at home is always to win, especially against one of the contenders for the title."
