Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was arrested and cautioned on Tuesday evening after becoming embroiled in an argument with police over his pet dog.
The Sun reports that Mourinho rushed back to his house from the Blues' player-of-the-year awards after his wife telephoned him to say their dog was being taken away.
Police believed that the Yorkshire Terrier had returned to this country from a trip abroad without the appropriate jabs and had been attempting to put the dog into quarantine.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said the incident took place at 7.45 on Tuesday evening when the police went to an address in central London with an officer from the Animal Health and Welfare Service.
He said: "A 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of obstructing police and was taken to a west London police station.
"He subsequently received a caution for obstructing police."
It is believed that the dog has since gone missing.
