The Whites were drawn against the European Champions on Wednesday night, following on from their win over Southampton and Chelsea's 5-4 success over Manchester United. It will be the first time the two clubs have met since Leeds' final game in the Premier League in 2004 - with the clash reviving a long-standing rivalry between the two.
"I was watching the game against Man Utd thinking that Chelsea didn't have a chance at one point," Jones said.
"I think that both managers, Neil Warnock for us and Roberto di Matteo for them, will think they can win this game because when you get to this stage, you start thinking about Wembley.
"It was a logical thought to have wanted to draw Bradford as they're the lowest-ranked team, but as soon as Chelsea were winning I wanted them at home."
Jones, meanwhile, does not believe Warnock will back down on his comments about Mark Clattenburg. Warnock said on Tuesday that he was supporting referee Clattenburg in light of Chelsea's complaint against him for using "inappropriate language" to midfielder Jon Obi Mikel. He is unlikely to be popular with Chelsea's fans as a result, but Jones does not think Warnock made the comments lightly, saying: "This tie has Neil written all over it. Sometimes he says things everyone is thinking but daren't say, and he gets lambasted for it.
"People think he says things off the hip but he doesn't, he thinks about things a lot and he's passionate about the Clattenburg thing. Believe it or not, he's pro-referees. There is no bigger supporter of referees than Neil Warnock. He won't regret it, he doesn't say things off the cuff, he is a thoughtful man."
Leeds confirmed on Thursday morning that the game with the Blues will be played a week after the other last-eight ties, owing to Chelsea's World Club commitments.
