Jon Obi Mikel set to sign new Chelsea deal

Chelsea are set to offer Nigerian midfielder Jon Obi Mikel a new 4 year deal – according to The Sun.

The Nigerian midfielder, 25, has been at Chelsea since 2006 and has been a pivotal figure in the Chelsea line up. Having won the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League last season – Chelsea see the holding midfielder as a key player to their success.

Mikel has won The Premier League, 4 FA Cups, The Community Shield and the UEFA Champions League from his time at Chelsea. Having been their since 2006 and with his new deal set to expire in 2017 – it is in Mikel's intentions to become a Chelsea legend.

Mikels current deal expires next summer - but his agent John Shittu revelead:

“Mikel is one of Chelsea's most consistent performers and the club agrees with us he desereves a new and improved contract – he has a year left and Chelsea have decided to add four more years to it.”

Chelsea are rumoured to be ready to reward Mikel with a new four year deal worth £90,000 a week.
