Johnson backs Chelsea for title

Birmingham defender Roger Johnson is backing his boyhood heroes Chelsea to win the Barclays Premier League as he prepares to realise a dream by playing against them at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening.

The former Cardiff player will try and pull out all the stops to help Birmingham extended their 15 game unbeaten run against Carlo Ancelotti's side. But Johnson believes Chelsea are red hot favourites to take the title.

"I think Chelsea will win the league as they've been better than most sides this season," said Johnson.

"Manchester United haven't been quite as good as in previous seasons. Arsenal have come up on the rails in recent weeks but Chelsea have that strength to grind results out.

"They've done that for most of the season and, if they have a good second half, they should easily win the title.

"It was great to play Chelsea at our place on Boxing Day but as a fan, it will mean a lot to play them at Stamford Bridge."
