John Terry desperate for Champions League glory with Chelsea
True blue John Terry will turn a shade of green when Manchester United and Barcelona battle out the Champions League final as the Chelsea skipper remains desperate to get his hands on the trophy. [LNB]United ended Chelsea hopes in the last eight this season - just three years after the width of the post denied Terry in Moscow as the Red Devils claimed the prize. [LNB]Terry has three Premier League titles, four FA Cups and two League Cups to his name but European club football's premier pot is the one he wants before he retires. [LNB] Battle cry: Terry is determined to conquer Europe before hanging up his boots at Stamford Bridge [LNB]When asked about his ambitions before he hangs up his boots, the 30-year-old centre-half said: 'Win the Champions League, win a competition with England whether it be the Euros or the World Cup, and just keep winning trophies. [LNB] 'There is going to be a time when I move on and I retire from the game and it is important the mentality remains, that people realise how special Chelsea Football Club is. [LNB]'I must make sure as the captain and as the player who has been here the longest that when people come to this football club they know what it is all about and how much it means to the fans. [LNB] 'I must make sure we keep that drive and mentality of winning for not just the next five years but for the next 10 or 15 years, keep the guys aiming to win trophies.' [LNB] Slip-up: Terry had the chance to win the Champions League in 2008 but missed his penalty against United[LNB]Committed to the cause for club and country Terry has played 50 games or more in five of the last seven seasons. It is no wonder he is looking forward to recharging his batteries. [LNB]He added on Chelsea's website: 'Last year was difficult because I had two and a half weeks off. This year we are hoping to get four weeks off so it will be a full recovery for us and I am looking forward to that.[LNB] 'Pre-season is different now, you can't go away for two or three weeks and do nothing and then come back and expect to be ready. [LNB] Gutted: Terry was in tears after United went on to win the shootout in Moscow three years ago[LNB]'For players in this day and age, if you get a month off you might have two weeks completely off and the rest of it you are training and getting ready for pre-season so you don't pick up those little niggles and little knocks.
