John Obi Mikel has confirmed he is on the verge of a move to Turkish side Galatasaray

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge for some weeks now, and at present, according to Mikel, he has agreed personal terms with the Turkish club. Chelsea paid £17million for the Nigerian in 2006, and wish to recoup at least £10million of that fee. However, Galatasaray have different ideas. They are only willing to pay £7million.

Mikel told the English media that he’s excited to play regular football again.

Since his move from Norwegian club, Lyn, in 2006, Mikel hasn’t really established himself as the hot prospect he was made out to be.

Albeit, he’s put in some decent shifts for the Blues, adding silverware to his CV along the way.

As Mourinho is on the hunt for world-class talent, Mikel has found a good deal here.

A move away from an imminent substitute role at the Bridge - to guaranteed Champions League football.

ESPN are claiming that should Mikel leave, Chelsea will pursue Roma star Daniel De Rossi.
