Chelsea's loss, Arsenal's gain Joe Cole is hours away from announcing that he is joining north London rivals Arsenal. The mercurial midfielder who is clearly unwanted by Chelsea will be doing all he can next season to dethrone the heroes of the Double. Cole, 28 is believed to have agreed to sign a £110k a week three year-deal. Cole is a free agent this summer and headed off to South Africa today with England for the World Cup safe in the knowledge that his agent is in north London tying up some loose ends. Arsenal are resigned to losing Cesc Fabregas for £35m and see Cole as a sop to their fans as well as signal that they are serious about restoring their title ambitions. Cole had the choice of Manchester United and Liverpool but decided that once Spurs were out of the picture, Arsenal were the club for him. He and wife Carly Zucker have a small child and both were reluctant to move to the north of the country. Good luck Coley - the Chelsea fans will give you a regreat reception next season - home and away. Chelsea are looking to replace Cole with a cheaper option, of 30-year-old Yossi Benayoun from Liverpool. What do you think of Cole's departure from SW6? Have your say in the messageboard now.
