Carlo Ancelotti believes Joe Cole is capable of going to the World Cup - but the Chelsea boss insisted Cole still has some improving to do.[LNB] Cole has not played for Fabio Capello's England side since September 2008 and is desperate to get back in the squad after recovering from knee surgery.[LNB] Ancelotti said: 'I think it's a very strong motivation for him, the national team. His aim is the World Cup. He can go, I think.'[LNB] Control freak: Joe Cole needs to do more on the ball, says Carlo Ancelotti[LNB] Despite impressive performances against Sunderland and Birmingham, Ancelotti believes Cole, for all his tireless running, can get better in possession. 'I said to him that the game is 90 minutes,' he said. [LNB]'One player stays on the pitch with the ball (for just) one minute. Joe, at the moment, is doing very well (for) 89 minutes. (He) misses only one minute. I asked (the players) how many times one player gets the ball on the pitch during a game. There were a lot of wrong answers. It's only one minute. I prefer to have players that move very well, without the ball, that help the team, and now Joe is doing this.[LNB] 'I'm sure he will do better with the ball because he has fantastic quality. He has returned from an injury so he could have some problems with sensibility.'[LNB] Cole is out of contract at the end of the season but Ancelotti insists the 28-year-old has nothing to prove. 'I said to him it's not necessary to show me, I know him very well,' said the Italian.[LNB] Chelsea face Burnley today knowing three points will cement their position at the top of the Barclays Premier League. The league leaders have four matches in 12 days but Ancelotti has few doubts about the stamina of his ageing squad.[LNB] He said: 'I don't want to think that every player can arrive like (Paolo) Maldini at 40 years old, but until 35 years old, a player can (be at) their best. When a player is 30, 32 or 33 years old, it's not old. Maybe 20 years ago, when I finished my career at 33, I was an old player. But now the career of a player is longer. I think this is the best moment of their careers.' [LNB] [LNB]
