Jason chasing starting spot

Wigan striker Jason Scotland expects to keep his place in the side for Saturday's trip to Hull after playing his part in the famous victory over Chelsea. The Trinidad and Tobago international has struggled to get up to speed in the Barclays Premier League after his summer £2million move from Coca-Cola Championship club Swansea. After six substitute appearances he made his first start against Chelsea and that coincided with Wigan's first victory over one of the top-flight's `big four' in 35 attempts. The 30-year-old Scotland, who has yet to score for the Latics having been prolific in the Championship, believes he warrants a second successive start at the KC Stadium. "This was my first start for the club and I'll be disappointed if I don't start the next one," he said. "To come into this was a massive situation for me and the team and it's arguably the best team performance I've been involved in."
