Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has held firm over Maicon's demands for a pay increase. The 27-year-old has seen his name linked with numerous clubs this summer, most notably Real Madrid and Chelsea. The Brazilian international is said to favour a move away from the San Siro but has committed himself to the club if the Nerazzurri match his own high ambitions in the transfer market ahead of the new season. The former Frankfurt youngster however has now declared that he feels undervalued at the Serie A champions and wants to be paid alongside the club's other top stars although Moratti clearly disagrees. "We consider Maicon for the value that he has," he told the club's official website. "We do not undervalue him." Confident over futureMaicon has developed into one of the best right-backs in the world since signing from Monaco in 2006 and did his growing reputation no harm after excelling for Brazil in the Confederations Cup this summer. With Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic also seemingly keen to put the feelers out for interested suitors Moratti is confident there will not be a mass exodus at the Milan club over the coming weeks. "It wasn't difficult to predict Maicon would become the strongest right-back in the world," he added. "We have seen this for the last three years and his merit has contributed to our success. "His demands? These are issues for the club. Am I worried about Inter? Why would I? We are strong and all of our players have remained in the team. "In fact, we have reinforced ourselves with the likes of Diego Milito and Thiago Motta."
