Inter refuse to meet price tag

Inter Milan claim they will not pursue any deal for Ricardo Carvalho and Deco under current circumstances because Chelsea's asking price is too high. The Portuguese duo are wanted by Inter boss Jose Mourinho, who managed both the players at Porto and then signed Carvalho at Chelsea before moving to Italy prior to Deco's arrival. Inter president Massimo Moratti recently announced the pair were not needed at the Giuseppe Meazza, but transfer consultant Lele Oriali has revealed talks have taken place with Chelsea and the Premier League club are said to be prepared to sell. Carvalho has stated that he is ready to leave Stamford Bridge, however, Inter are not willing to meet Chelsea's price tag for the defender, or midfielder Deco. Oriali told Italy's Sky TV: "Having had the good fortune to talk directly with Chelsea we know that they are ready to sell these two players but their asking price is too high. "It's not a deal as simple as it seems. Under these conditions it's not possible for us. "For now the deal is closed and I don't know if it will be unblocked later on."
