If Cavani says no, Chelsea will go for Lewandowski

Jose Mourinho is ready to drop his pursuit of Napoli striker Edinson Cavani and restart his hunt for Dortmund hitman Robert Lewandowski.

The Blues, it is reported, still have a heavy interest in the Napoli forward, whose future will be addressed now that Uruguay are out of the Confederations Cup.

Despite Chelsea publicising their interest in Cavani, nothing seems to have materialised on Cavani’s side. His desire to move to Real Madrid seems to be the decisive factor.

Mourinho has expressed his reluctancy to trigger the £54million buy-out clause that seems to be holding the Uruguayan back. Although, Chelsea would be willing to throw Fernando Torres in to the equation.

Meanwhile, Dortmund forward Lewandowski, who has just 12 months left on his current contract, has not kept quiet about his desire to join up with Pep Guardiola at bitter rivals Bayern Munich.

But, as you’d imagine, Dortmund are refusing to do business after Bayern prised Mario Gotze away.

Chelsea believe the Champions League runners up will not want their£25million asset to leave for nothing next summer and are ready to offer him terms worth £170,000 per week.

Chelsea fans! – who would you prefer - Cavani, or Lewandowski?
