I Guess Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho was Right.

A couple weeks ago Chelsea manger Jose Mourinho stated that his teams lead at the top of the Barclays Premier League was nothing more than a false standing. Mourinho said: "The gap to Man City is a fake advantage. If they win their games in hand, they're top." After this weekend’s fixtures, it is looking like the “Special One” was right.

The Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde team, better known as Manchester City, showed what kind of team they can truly be after losing captain Vincent Kompany to a red card 10 minutes into the match. It was the worst start any team could suffer but Man City didn’t fold. Four minutes later, David Silva scored a sublime left footed strike and City settle in and fought off a determined Hull City team 2-0. After being knocked out of the FA Cup and then the Champions League all in a week’s time, many doubted that Manchester City were capable of making a run at the title.

Things turned out much differently for Chelsea. It is not often that two players receive red cards and the manger sent to the stands in the same game. But it happened and Chelsea was beaten by Aston Villa 1-0. Villa gave Chelsea all they could handle and deserved the 1-0 victory to move to 10th in the table.

Chelsea on the other hand are now looking over their shoulder and hoping that Dr. Jekyll turns back into Mr. Hyde. To add to the drama Liverpool and Arsenal refuse to go away quietly, both having a game at hand and both sitting 4 points behind them. Chelsea have it all to do, along with a Champions League match on Tuesday with Galatasaray, they welcome Arsenal to Stamford Bridge for what is sure to be a quite a battle.

Can Mourinho tell the future? If you are a Chelsea fan, then you are hoping he cannot. The only thing I can say is that this is turning out to be one of the most exciting finishes to a Premier League season with some great fixtures yet to be played.
