Home form concerns Scolari
15 Dec 2008 - 07:45:05
Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari admitted after his side's 1-1 draw against West Ham United at Stamford Bridge that the Blues' home form is beginning to concern him.
Chelsea have won all eight of their away games so far this season but have won only three of nine matches on home soil, dropping 14 points in the process.
"I am frustrated," said Scolari. "The first half we did not play well. We played slowly, passed right, passed left, but no pressure.
"The second half we played better but the last ten minutes we changed our football, we tried to put the ball in the box.
"I don't want this and we draw one more game in Stamford Bridge. It is difficult to explain.
"(Didier) Drogba is now in better condition and I need to train more with two strikers.
"All the teams come to Stamford Bridge and play with ten players back in 40 metres and there is not space for my players, so now my players need to improve. They need to dribble, need to try something different."
Scolari thought his side should have been awarded a late penalty when Lucas Neill appeared to trip Frank Lampard, adding: "If you look on television, it is a penalty because the player that touched Lampard, touched him and moved his foot away.
"But the referee doesn't give it so finish, it is not a penalty.
"I don't have a penalty for me in this competition. Any club by now has three, four, five penalties, but for me no penalties.
"Sometimes we don't have quality. It is important for us to win at home and we need to win one, two, then three games here. After this, we play the same as the last five years."
