Holland joins Chelsea

Former Crewe boss Steve Holland has become reserve-team manager at Chelsea after leaving his post as academy director at Stoke. Holland was in charge at Gresty Road for 18 months before he was sacked in November 2008. Crewe offered him the chance to remain at the club in a coaching capacity, but the 39-year-old opted to join Premier League neighbours Stoke towards the end of last season to oversee their youth system. Holland has now left the Potters to team up with the London giants, where he will work closely with first-team boss Carlo Ancelotti and his assistant Ray Wilkins.
