England boss Roy Hodgson has admitted that the gamble of playing too many debutants had failed and he will bring back the old guard for the match against Germany on Tuesday.Having seen his side torn apart with a strike in either half by Barcelona's Alexis Sanchez, to give Chile a deserved 2_-0 win, Hodgson confirmed that Ashley Cole and Joe Hart will be back."Joe Hart will start against Germany," he said."Also to play will be the bulk of those experienced players you would expect, the ones that did not play tonight."That list will be expanded to include skipper Steven Gerrard, Phil Jagielka, Daniel Sturridge, Kyle Walker and if fit possibly Rickie Lambert., "I took a chance by playing too many debutants," he admitted.The players concerned were Celtic's Frasier Forster, Adam Lallana, and Jay Rodriguez of Southampton.Of the three, Hodgson said: "Frasier did not have many saves to make and he was chance less with both the goals."Rodriguez did well but it was a big ask for him. Perhaps the chance came too early for them. Lallana also did well. I won't write any of then off as a result of tonight's match.This was Hodgson's first defeat at Wembley as England boss but he was surprised by it."I did not expect to lose, but we did," he said."But we need to remedy the areas where we need to."We learnt a lot tonight, against a good team."We were sucked in to their goalkeeper who then kicked it 40 yards upfield.We played inexperienced players and we were on the back foot after conceding an early goal, chasing the game."And they were more than capable of keeping the ball."Even our most experienced players who have found it hard against that good side."Fans booed the Three Lions off the pitch but the England boss refused to criticise them."I won't criticise them," he said. "booing is part of the game."It's a shame we could not keep our momentum tonight, but I hope they have a sense of perspective'" he added.
Definitely out will be Phill Jones: "He suffered with a groin injury," he said. " He will go and have a scan but I think he won't be ready for Germany."
