Hiddink warning for Shearer

Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink has warned Alan Shearer that his legendary status at Newcastle United will not guarantee him success. Shearer is poised for his first game in charge on Tyneside since he was unveiled as the club's new short-term boss during midweek. The former Magpies striker netted an impressive 206 goals during his time at St James' Park as a player, and his return on Saturday is eagerly anticipated by supporters. Shearer's debut match at the helm is against Premier League title contenders Chelsea, and Hididnk has suggested that his reputation could count for little. No guarantees "It depends on your religion and whether you believe in Messiahs," said Hiddink. "It's not always when you are a top, top player that you are guaranteed to be a top manager as well. "Top, top players think because of their talent everything is going to happen automatically. For them having the talent, it's rather normal. "But for most players who are not that gifted, you have to help them out in practice in a different way and it's not guaranteed."
