Hiddink makes Uefa claim

Guus Hiddink believes it suits Uefa to have a UEFA Champions League final between Manchester United and Barcelona rather than an all-English contest.[LNB] Three Premier League teams progressed to the semi-finals and one was guaranteed to make the Rome showpiece from United's tie with Arsenal.[LNB]Chelsea looked like setting up a repeat of last year's final when they opened the scoring against Barcelona, but Andres Iniesta's late strike at Stamford Bridge gave the Spanish side victory on away goals.[LNB]The Blues were frustrated with the manner of their defeat after being denied a number of penalties by referee Tom Henning Ovrebo.[LNB]They have been charged with improper conduct by Uefa and Didier Drogba and Jose Bosingwa also face possible punishment after reacting angrily.[LNB]Hiddink has rejected theories of a conspiracy but he does think another final between Chelsea and United would have been unpopular with Uefa.[LNB]"It is difficult to talk about conspiracy if you have no proof," Hiddink told Chelsea TV.[LNB]"I am rather human as well and I think Uefa, they will not say it, were very happy there was not an all-English final for the second consecutive time.[LNB]"First of all we should have scored more goals in the home game but besides that I feel the anger and the injustice.[LNB]"This was not an inexperienced referee. He had some problems in the past but he was not inexperienced. I do not know what happened that night. I think he had a total blackout that evening. It was not his first big game but it was amazing how he did not react."[LNB]Russia returnA number of Chelsea players have pleaded with Hiddink to stay at the club but he insists he will be returning to his role as full-time boss of Russia.[LNB]"I have my commitments, bedsides the contracts, to renewing the Russia squad," he explained.[LNB]"At the end of the World Cup qualification period it would not be fair from my side to say that I am going.[LNB]"There is a commitment you give to people and I did that to the Russian players. There is a new generation of Russian players and it would not be fair from my side to say goodbye because I'd like to do another job. I have my commitments to them as well and I want to fulfil them."[LNB]
