Hiddink - Blues lack depth

Guus Hiddink believes his successor at Chelsea must look to bolster their squad over the summer. The experienced Dutch coach has worked wonders at Stamford Bridge since he took over from Luiz Felipe Scolari in February. He has rejuvenated a number of the Blues' under-performing stars and led them to an FA Cup final on the back of a 13-match unbeaten run. However, Hiddink, who is set to step down from his temporary post following a Wembley date with Everton on Saturday, feels Chelsea must look to reinforce over the close season if they are to compete on multiple fronts next term. He said: "It's not up to me to talk about that, but the people at this club know they must improve in depth because we have a good squad and a good team, but everyone knows that Chelsea has to compete on three roads (Premier League, UEFA Champions League and FA Cup). "You need a squad not just of 14 or 15 or 16 players, but you need quality players all over the place. "But that's not up to me, that's up to the new manager and the board, of course." Hiddink is set to turn his attention back to his role with the Russia national side once he calls time on his tenure at Chelsea, but he has refused to rule out the possibility of returning to England in the future. He said: "I said once when I was working in Spain, 'when I finish here, I will do something different, maybe related to football, but not in the flashlight of football as we are now'. "I could not keep that promise, so I won't promise it anymore. "But I will miss it, of course."
