HATCHET MAN: The best league in the world? Not if the likes of Robinho can end up its top scorer
The Premier League may have been able to boast about some of their most exciting matches in the last couple of weeks but when the season ends there will be something major missing: a standout goalscorer.[LNB]With all the talk from some of the biggest name forwards about how valuable they are and how much they should earn, it is only fair to expect them to back it up in front of goal, but they have failed badly.[LNB]Cristiano Ronaldo scored 31 goals last term with Fernando Torres and Emmanuel Adebayor trailing him on 24.[LNB] [LNB]Expensive: Robinho's 12 league goals have cost £34m so far [LNB]But with a maximum of six matches left to play in this season's competition the best effort so far is 15 goals.[LNB]There is no chance of Ronaldo, who is leading the way with Nicolas Anelka, getting anywhere near the level he reached last term.[LNB]To reach the Didier Drogba's 2007 mark of 20 goals might be pushing it too and this campaign could produce the fewest number of goals for the leading scorer in Premier League history.[LNB] More from Hatchet Man...
