Have a read and see if any of these five fit the bill

Five Premier League football players that refused to play for their clubsFulham thrashed Norwich 5-0 on Saturday despite a certain American refusing to line up for the home team at Craven CottageRoberto Martinez and Martin Jol are the latest managers to lament the fact that the football season starts before the transfer window closes, something which leads to players facing an uncertain future. However, while the likes of Scott Sinclair and Victor Moses made themselves available for selection last weekend, there are others who have thrown their toys out of the pram and refused to budge until their club agrees to sell them.1) Clint Dempsey digs his heels in at the Cottage“Clint was not involved over the last four weeks so he is not going to be in the squad,”said Jol ahead of Saturday’s win over Norwich. “He is not committed to the club. He wants to leave. I would like to keep him, but I think it’s impossible. It’s a sad and an almost embarrassing situation.”Whether Dempsey performs an about-turn and commits himself to Fulham remains to be seen, although Liverpool remain the favourite to sign one of last season’s top goalscorers in the Premier League.2) Carlos Tevez plays golf after Munich bust-upRoberto Mancini stated last season that Tevez “wouldn’t play for Manchester City again”following the player’s apparent refusal to warm-up at the Allianz Arena, something which saw a stand-off between the pair for several months.Carlos was able to improve his golf swing in the meantime and now the garden is rosy, with Mancini claiming he is ‘very happy’ with the former problem child.3) Paul Scholes scoffs at the idea of playing Carling Cup footballPaul Scholes made his name in the League Cup when bagging a brace on his debut against Port Vale in September 1994, although the midfielder was less willing to feature in the same competition seven years later when Sir Alex Ferguson picked him in the Man United squadto face Arsenal.Scholes later said: "Considering what I did, the manager was well within his rights to sack me and do whatever he wanted me to do with me. I went to apologise as soon as I realised I'd made a massive mistake.”4) Pierre van Hooijdonk strikes back at relegation-threatened ForestThe Dutchman made 71 appearances for Nottingham Forest in the late 1990’s, although things took a turn for the worse in the summer of 1998 when Van Hooijdonk returned from World Cup duty and clashed with the board over the strengthening of the first team. The striker was refused the chance to be transfer-listed and promptly went on strike until early November before agreeing to return to the City Ground, despite many of his team-mates refusing to speak with him. Forest were eventually relegated that season.5) Tottenham send out a search party for Luka ModricModric looks set to join Real Madrid following an almighty huff from the Croatian who has refused to have anything to do with current club Tottenham until his transfer request is granted. The midfielder has been fined twice for refusing to travel on the club’s pre-season tour of America and was unsurprisingly not part of the squad that travelled to Newcastle for the opening game of the season.Modric has previous, with the player having informed Harry Redknapp just before Spurs’ 5-1 home defeat against Manchester City that he wasn’t in the right frame of mind to play.
