Guus Hiddink begs Chelsea to let successor Ancelotti plan for the long term after anarchy at Stamfor

Guus Hiddink has called for his successor to be given time to return Chelsea to the top - as Michael Ballack and Nicolas Anelka admitted Carlo Ancelotti was lined up for the post. Italian coach Ancelotti is set to take over at Stamford Bridge early next week following AC Milan's final match of the season this afternoon. Hiddink is already back in Russia to concentrate on his role as the country's national-team boss after guiding Chelsea to FA Cup success in Saturday's clash with Everton. And he has told Stamford Bridge owner Roman Abramovich that the club now needs a stint of stability after the disruption of four managers in two seasons.
