Chelsea coach Avram Grant is looking to bolster his squad in the January transfer window, but only if he can find players of the right quality.
The Blues boss is currently without six key first-team players in Didier Drogba, John Terry, Frank Lampard, Claude Makelele, Florent Malouda and Carlo Cudicini through injury.
Meanwhile, Ricardo Carvalho and Ashley Cole are suspended for Saturday's visit of Newcastle United to Stamford Bridge.
Grant has revealed he is keen to add some fresh faces to his squad, but is adamant he will only do so on his terms and is not looking to sign any stop-gap replacements.
"We want players of the right quality," he said.
"It would be an advantage if they can play in Europe, although the Champions League is in February and I expect the injured players to come back and the African players.
"The problem is not the money. I think it's more than the short term."
