Grant calls for Blues stability

Avram Grant believes stability is needed at Chelsea if they are to produce the levels of success expected at Stamford Bridge. The former Chelsea chief was sacked last summer despite guiding the club to the UEFA Champions League final and second place in the Premier League during his solitary campaign as manager. Luiz Felipe Scolari was the man charged with succeeding him but the Brazilian has since departed, with Guus Hiddink becoming the fifth coach to have worked under Roman Abramovich in six years. Grant accepts Abramovich has the right to make bold decisions with regards his management considering the money he has pumped into the club, but the Israeli tactician believes it is a folly to continue to chop and change dugout personnel. "Every club needs stability and sometimes they don't have it," Grant told Bloomberg. "He (Abramovich) wants to be at the top, he wants to be the best, he put a lot of money and effort in to do it. I felt that I wanted to continue. "When your team every month is better than before, you feel that you want to continue because you want to keep developing, and enjoying the results." AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti is currently the hot favourite to take over from the popular Hiddink in the summer and Grant accepts the club could do a lot worse than turn to the Italian. "I think he did a good job in Milan," Grant said. "I was one time (for) two, three days in Milan and I watched his training and I liked what I saw."
