Chelsea take on Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final after meeting the Spanish outfit eight times in the last nine years.[LNB]The contests have often produced goal fests with the sides averaging nearly four goals a game including some unforgettable strikes from the likes of Ronaldinho and Drogba[LNB]Sportsmail takes a look at some of those encounters.[LNB]1999-2000Chelsea 3-1 BarcelonaApril 5, 2000 - Quarter-final 1st leg[LNB]Barcelona 5-1 Chelsea (6-4 agg)April 18, 2000 - Quarter-final 2nd legAfter leading 3-1 from the first leg thanks to goals from Tore Andre Flo and Gianfranco Zola, Chelsea travelled to the Nou Camp hopeful of progressing to the European Cup semi-finals for the first time in the club's history.[LNB]Sadly for Gianluca Vialli and his men they came up against a Barcelona side packed full of superstars playing at the top of their game. [LNB]From then on Chelsea's 10 men defended like lions to keep their hopes alive for what was to be an unforgettable return leg at Stamford Bridge. His neat turn and powerful shot after great work from Ashley Cole down the left bagged a much needed three points for Chelsea's round one campaign.[LNB]With Chelsea's third-choice keeper between the sticks following sickening injuries to Cech and Carlo Cudicini the previous weekend - this was a job well done.[LNB]VIDEO: Drobga's goal...[LNB][LNB]Ivory tower: Drogba celebrates[LNB]Barcelona 2-2 ChelseaOctober 31, 2006 - Group stage[LNB]The return fixture at the Nou Camp was more like the games of old. A night of theatre and tantrum kicked off with Rafael Marquez escaping unpunished after bringing down his studs on Michael Essien's groin.[LNB]Minutes later the game threatened to descend into a violent farce when Drogba barged into Thiago Motta before Marquez again got involved by shoving the Ivory Coast striker.[LNB]Meanwhile goals were flying in from former Chelsea-star Gudjohnsen and Deco while Lampard hit back for The Blues just after half-time. [LNB]Drogba rounded off another pulsating night with an injury-time leveler as he beat Marquez and thundered in a near-post belter.[LNB] On the Road with...Chelsea: Barcelona get ready to embrace a new campBosingwa vows to shut out Messi as Chelsea brace for Barca onslaughtAncelotti delivers snub to Chelsea by insisting he will stay with MilanMartin Samuel: Changing of the guard?
